Salt in the Air shell - Sanderijn De Bruin

My little girl and I were on the beach at March 26th this year, and we had such a peaceful and joyful afternoon together.
It gave me a wonderful feeling of being blessed, because we both felt this amazing inner peace after being there for just a few hours.
We collected shells together and I wanted to use them for an altered piece.

I had a very big shell in my stash for quite some time now, and it was perfect for an altered project.
My sweet friend Kasia had send me these cute little seahorses and I used them on my project to let them represent me and my little girl that afternoon at the beach...

I first ripped the sides of the seagrass chippies a little bit apart, and then I painted them twice with white acrylic paint.
I glued some sisal  and the seagrass chippies in the bigger shell with 3d gel.
Next I added the little shells, metal stars, metal round objects and the seahorses.

When it was dry, I painted everything with clear gesso.
Then I poored some clear crackle varnish between the layers of the little shells.
When it was dry and crackled, I added a layer of white gesso.

And then the fun began! I sprayed blue and yellow-gold inks from Lindy's Stamp Gang on my project, and dried it with a heattool. Adding several layers  until I was satisfied.

I added gold Finnabair wax with a brush and my fingertips. Highlighting my little seahorses in the middle.

The chipboard title is first embossed with white embossing powder and then painted with white acrylic paint. When the paint was not yet dry, I sprinkeld some golden glitter over the title.

Perfect Moment - Cathy Cafun (June Challenge Inspiration)

Hi everyone, today I am sharing my take on this month's beautiful Mood Board/Sketch Challenge over at The Dusty Attic.  This month we have a beautiful Beach themed Mood Board and fabulous sketch from "The Nifty Pixel".

Why not enter for your chance to win a $100 gift voucher from the Dusty Attic website. All you need to do is use the Mood Board or Sketch or both for inspiration, add Dusty Attic chipboard to your creation and simply add your link with your name and country to the right hand side of the bar of the Dusty Attic Blog.

Perfect Moment

To create my layout I used this month's sketch and started by tearing a strip of the pretty Maja Designs floral paper to add to the left side of my weatherboard background paper and added sections of diecut lace paper to peak out from underneath.  I also added a small torn section to the top right.

To mask my background I used Dusty Attic Texture Paste and the gorgeous new Rose Stencil.  Once dry, I outlined the roses with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Marker, then randomly stamped over the masked area with Kaisercraft tiny dot texture stamp using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in worn lipstick.
All chipboard designs are new releases and were altered with embossing powders in glossy pearl, matte pearl and and Nuvo witch gives a textured look.   I applied them to the chipboard pieces by priming first with gesso, and whilst wet, sprinkling with embossing powder and heat setting.

Summer - Valerie Ouellet

Bonjour tout le monde!
Voici une page que j'ai fait pour mon Dt Dusty Attic.

Hi everyone!
Here is my layout for this month for Dusty Attic. I decided to create a summer layout.

Pour faire mon fond, j'ai utilisé le nouveau stencil de Dusty Attic "Fishnet 2" avec de la pâte texture.
Une fois sec, j'ai utilisé un spray Lindy's pour créer un effet vague.

For the background, I used the new stencil "Fishnet 2" with white modeling paste.
Once dry, I used a Lindy's spray to create a wave effect.

J'ai utilisé le chipboard "Foliage 7" que j'ai embossé en bleu avec ma poudre à embosser Lindy's Stamp Gang. J'ai créé une superposition avec mes chipboards.

I used  "Foliage 7" that I embossed with blue embossing powder. I create a layer effect with my chipboards.

Je suis en amour avec les "Minis anchors" de Dusty Attic. C'est un magnifique petit embellissement à ajouter sur une page.

I'm in love with the "Minis anchors". It's a wonderful embellishment to add on a layout. I just embossed my chipboard with white embossing powder. A very simple effect.

-Dusty Attic stencil "Fishnet 2"
-Dusty Attic chipboard "Foliage 7"

Discover - Cathy Cafun

Hi everyone, today I am sharing a layout created with some of the new release chipboard designs from The Dusty Attic.

Upon spying the new world map chipboard design, I knew I would use it on a travel page from my son Luke's recent trip to Japan.

To create my background I roughly tore the edges of the red pp and tore smaller sections of navy and red pp's to layer underneath, then adhered to a creamy white background.

I stamped randomly over the background first with a distress stamp in Carnation Red archival ink, then in Cobalt archival using the bubble stamps.

I decided to use the other half of the Mystic Frame #2 chipboard, which I cut apart to use on a previous layout.   I altered the frame by inking in cobalt ink, then coating with Dusty Attic Clear Crackle Medium

The larger World Map chipboard was cut into 2 sections, then one of them was cut in half, which I used to layer on top of the frame.  To alter the world maps I inked in white, then used a Tim Holtz chipped sapphire distress marker around the edges.
The hello world Word Disk chipboard was backed with red paper, inked in cobalt and coated with Dusty Attic Clear Gloss Medium, and the Wordpl@y chipboard pieces were inked in carnation red, then coated with Clear Gloss Medium.

To finish off I flicked some watered down Izink in Jasmine, which has a lovely glossy metallic sheen.

Prima Finnabair Stamp

Hello crafty friends!

Today I have a layout to share with you inspired by our beautiful June's moodboard.
I was inspired by the colours of this month's moodboard but didn't use the sketch this time.

The photo of my daughter was taken in Arena di Verona in Verona, Italy. I captured that treasured
moment while she was enjoying the preparations for the evening opera performance.

All the chipboard pieces were used white i.e. painted with gesso. To give even
more white look I used white paint as well. I love to give the chipboard pieces
white look - in this way they pop up beautifully on the page.

Because I decided to give a blue touch to my layout it was logical to add just a bit of blue
paint to the chipboard - Dusty in Colour Oceania was the perfect colour.
The cheese cloth was also painted partly with the Oceania colour.

How cute are those new small clockworks chipboard!

I added slightly pink touches to the Boho Feather - I did that by using a thin pointed brush.
Did you notice that the edges of the matted paper are painted with blue as well?

Layers, layers and more layers of papers and chipboard - gorgeousness :-)

I hope you enjoyed my layout today and get inspired!
